About Me
|
I’m a portrait, wedding, and plain ol’ life photographer located in Seattle, Washington, but happy to travel wherever you are or will be. Just say the word! You may have known me in the past Heather King or hpk, but I have since married the love of my life, Josh Brincko, and now I’m Heather Brincko or hpb. That’s us to the left. Pretty stink’n cute, eh? He’s an extremely talented architect and we work together as part of the creative team at International Studio. It’s a sweet, sweet, life. Here’s a little more about me: My most prestigious award so far is “Most Determination,” which I received in 1987 as a beginning-level gymnast. I drink massive amounts of tea every day. Rap music can be heard bumping from my quaint little Subaru Impreza. I love to travel, refuse to sing, and daffodils are my favorite flower. I have them tattooed on me a. because I love them so much and b. because I like to face my fears (I used to be terrified of needles). When I was little, my dad built a darkroom in our house and I loved photography instantly. I’ve also been really into art generally since… well, always. My wacky grandmother, Gillian Hodge (insert her high-pitched, English accent), was a ceramic artist and all-around inspiration for me. To be honest, a piece of my artistic side died when she passed in 2001 and I had a hard time picking up a camera or paintbrush for a long time. After ditching a high-stress career in IT, I started picking up my cameras again. I built a darkroom in my house and also started diving into digital. Not to sound cheesy, but I started to feel alive again. |
